Nathaniel Goodnews

Nathaniel Goodnews (b. 2001) was born and raised in Kogi State, Nigeria. He studied Fine and Applied arts at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where his artistic philosophy, visual language and voice were born. Nathaniel's paintings are ethereal storytelling told with the human feet as a poignant metaphor of life and motion. The element of the human feet in his works serves as a symbolic metaphor for self-agency, direction and rootedness. More than an element of the human body, the feet carry the power to choose direction, and to mark one's path. Nathaniel believes that the innate willpower required to navigate life lies in the proverbial feet, as the preternatural guide of any being, as rooted in his own personal philosophy.
